Developer Millennium Partners is using a “state-of-the-art” sign to herald the erection of its Millennium Place condominium in Boston. The sign, which rounds the corner of Washington and Avery Streets, says the new building is not simply a “place to live,” but a “way to live.” In addition to the slogan, the sign carries a QR code, which can be scanned by smart phones and will prompt a 3-D digital simulation of Millennium Place being built. The clip is also available on the Millennium Place web site. Millennium Place’s sales office will open in the fall. The project, across Washington Street from the Millennium-developed Ritz-Carlton Hotel, is expected to be complete in the fall of 2013. Millennium Partners says it plans to invest about $1 billion in Boston over the next decade. In addition to the new condo development, the company is also planning Millennium Tower for the vacant former Filene’s site a couple of blocks away in Boston’s Downtown Crossing.
